The Lake Betoota Cattle Company is one of the largest employers in the wider Betoota Basin. If you've ever eaten a McDouble or anything bought off a street vendor in Indonesia, chances are it came from Lake Betoota Cattle Company. They own a number of stations in the area, most notably Montague Station. 'Monty', as it's known to locals, is one of the Diamantina's best finishing properties and the Brahman, Droughtie and Angus that come off it are among the best in the country.
