The Betoota Dugongs Cricket Club is one of the Diamantina's premier sporting and social clubs. The club’s history dates back to August 1876 when it was formed by one Captain Starlight to cater 'for the welfare of the young men of the Channel Country'. The club relies heavily on local volunteer helpers – particularly its magnificent band of tea-makers. Thanks to the backing of long-time Patron, Sir Clive Overell, A.K., M.C., together with our sponsor and after-match hosts The Lord Kidman Hotel, their landlord Betoota City Council and many loyal supporters, their future is secure.A limited-edition 'baseball' style cap.
